“Susan is an exemplary Francophile who consistently (and stylishly!) captures the French lifestyle many Americans crave. Her stunning photography and unyielding devotion to all things French are truly inspirational.

Welcome et bienvenue! I’m Susan Zehnacker, a multi-hyphenate creator with a passion for crafting beauty in various forms. My journey began as a writer (poetry, to be exact) and expanded into interior design, event styling, photography, content creation, and back to writing (in that order). I’m currently focused on growing through the power of storytelling, with the goal of becoming a published author.
Rooted in my heritage, I have always been deeply passionate about French culture. With both French Canadian and Alsatian roots, this cultural tapestry has profoundly influenced my aesthetic sensibilities and creative endeavors, inspiring me to launch Fleurishing in 2010—a personal blog that celebrates the elegance and charm of French-inspired living. The blog quickly resonated with a global audience, and encouraged by its success, I founded The Francophiles, a vibrant and international community.
Currently based in Philadelphia, I cherish the privilege and embrace the challenge of homeschooling my tween twins, Marie and Henry. Much of the past twelve years has been dedicated to raising two thought leaders, of which I’m very proud (my furry child Winni is quite the little rebel herself). I've most recently embarked on a journey of self-expression and exploring my queer identity via Substack.
Beyond my creative pursuits, I'm dedicated to using my platforms to advocate for social justice. Whether raising awareness, promoting equitable practices in my field, or supporting marginalized communities, I strive to make a positive impact wherever possible. It's a privilege to share my journey and perspectives with the world, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to connect with readers who find resonance and solidarity in my words. Thank you for stopping by…please do say hello!
